Jhon Arias is officially a Wolverhampton player. The English club announced the signing of the Colombian, who excelled in the Club World Cup while playing for Fluminense. The total value of the transaction reached 22 million euros for 90% of the player’s rights. Arias will wear the number 10 shirt for Wolves.
With the transaction, Fluminense will also retain 10% of the rights in a future sale. Of the 90% mentioned above, 17 million euros are fixed and 5 million euros are variable depending on the player’s goals at the English club.
Arias’ contract with Fluminense was renewed on February 1st, with a salary increase that made him the highest-paid player in the squad and the holder of the largest contract in the team’s history. The decision to leave the Rio de Janeiro club at this time was made by the player.
Arias was sold to Wolverhampton Wanderers on July 17th, and a few days later, the Colombian said goodbye to Fluminense.
