Arnold Schwarzenegger returns to the Predator franchise

The highlight will be an epilogue scene featuring Dutch, played by Arnold Schwarzenegger in the acclaimed original film, and Mike Harrigan, played by Danny Glover in Predator 2. One of cinema’s most successful franchises.

During San Diego Comic-Con, Dan Trachtenberg announced that a new version of the animated film Predator: Assassin of Assassins will arrive on Disney+ at 11 PM ET.

The scene also features an appearance by Naru (Amber Midthunder) from Predator: The Hunt. In it, we see Predator warriors carrying floating coffins containing human bodies.

The camera slowly pans to reveal the sleeping bodies (yes, sleeping, not dead) of Naru, then Lieutenant Mike Harrigan, and finally Dutch. Trachtenberg said he had breakfast with Arnold Schwarzenegger to discuss the inclusion of the classic protagonist and his future in the franchise.

The actor authorized the use of his likeness and allowed his appearance to become canonical within the universe.

What is the production about?

In Predator: Assassin of Assassins, we follow three anthology stories featuring the Predator battling Vikings, samurai, and World War II pilots.

What happens in the film (no major spoilers)

‘Predator: Killer of Assassins’ is an animated science fiction anthology that brings together three stories set in distinct historical periods—Viking, feudal Japan, and World War II—each featuring humans who defeat a Predator. The film’s central revelation shows that these characters are not separated in time, but have been placed in cryogenics by the Yautja and brought together in a deadly alien arena, where they must fight each other—until only one survives to face the Predator leader, the “Grendel King.”

The final scene features the surviving trio escaping and a reveal of capsules containing Naru, the protagonist of ‘The Predator: The Hunt’ (played by Amber Midthunder), suggesting that she too was captured after her original film.
