Trump ‘seriously considering’ giving Sean Diddy a presidential pardon

Nearly two months after Donald Trump publicly mentioned the possibility of pardoning Sean Diddy Combs during an informal conversation in the White House Oval Office, a full amnesty for the rapper is being “seriously considered,” according to the American magazine “Deadline.”

Convicted of transportation for prostitution, the music industry mogul in the United States will be sentenced on October 3, 2025.

The American media outlet claims that Diddy’s famous friends and colleagues have been lobbying the administration. In recent days, the issue has gone from being just “another vague idea of Trump’s,” as sources heard by “Deadline” allege, to becoming a concrete move by the president.

Currently imprisoned, Sean “Diddy” Combs is accused of using his fame and fortune to run a decade-long criminal organization in which he controlled and manipulated others through violence and threats. According to the indictment, the rapper and businessman forced them to act out fantasies and participate in drug-fueled sex marathons. In July, the 55-year-old music industry mogul was acquitted of three of the five charges he faced and was found partially guilty in his sex trafficking trial.

Since his arrest in September of last year, Diddy has been denied several requests for release on $50 million bail and remains detained at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, New York. His sentencing is scheduled for October 3rd and will be handed down by Judge Arun Subramanian. The expected sentence is two to three years in federal prison, with time already served deducted. Although the prosecutor’s office is seeking the maximum sentence within the legal guidelines, the defense—comprised of a ten-lawyer team—is expected to file an appeal immediately after the sentencing.

Reached by Deadline, defense attorneys Marc Agnifilo and Teny Gerago said they had “no comment” on the presidential pardon talks. Although people close to Diddy—both personally and professionally—are involved in contacts with the White House to seek a pardon, the lawyers themselves are reportedly not actively participating in these negotiations. The White House’s official response was: “The White House will not comment on the existence or non-existence of clemency requests,” according to an administration official.
