Defensive midfielder Douglas Luiz did not report for Juventus’ preseason training. The squad was expected to be present at the Continassa Training Center this Thursday. According to Gazzetta dello Sport, the Brazilian will likely be punished for his unexcused absence.
According to the Italian newspaper, Douglas Luiz was the only player who did not provide a reason for his absence at the training session. Gazzetta states that Juventus will take disciplinary action against the Brazilian.
According to the publication, West Ham, Everton, and Liverpool are teams monitoring Douglas Luiz’s situation. Juventus is expected to sell the midfielder for €40 million.
Juventus played in the Club World Cup in June and lost to Real Madrid in the round of 16. The Italian team faces Borussia Dortmund in a friendly at 12:30 pm on August 10th.
